Summary

Silas is flashing back to when he was younger. He saved a young Wendron witch from a pack of wolverines. The witch had tried to freeze the wolverines but she had frozen herself instead. Silas froze all of the wolverines and sat with the witch as she unfroze.

Summary

The changing of a bug into a shield bug is very gruesome. First the bug looses its legs. Then its arms are lengthened shortened or grown. Then its body is lengthened or shortened. Armor is put on its body. A pike in its hand. From then on it looks forward to its day of freedom.

Summary

Marcia insists that they make shield bugs. Shield bugs are any type of bug but they have a transformation because of a charm. Marcia would prep the charms, Zelda would put the bugs in the jar. Boy 412 would put the goop for them on top. Finally Jenna would screw the tops on. After that you just watch them transform.

Summary

When it is boy 412's turn he says the charm he does it so quickly that no one sees him go. Marcia seems so mad but however she is not. This si because she has never seen a beginner master a spell so quickly.

Summary

Marcia is giving Jenna and Septimus unseen and unheard charms so that way they will be able to stay safe if that time comes.Jenna tries and tries to do hers but she cannot get the words right. After she gets the words right she disappears, but only for a minute. This is because the first time you do a spell it won't last long.

Summary

A message rat has just arrived for Silas, but he is having trouble remembering the charm to make the rat speak. Marcia and Jenna will not go down stairs however because they do not know if he is a confidential rat. When they find out he is by Marcia speaking through a pot they come down and the rat  delivers his message.

Boy 412 has just fallen done a hole because he was walking around outside. As he is crawling around the floor he finds a ring. When he puts the ring on his finger it shrinks to the size of this finger. I then produces an eerie light

Aunt Zelda has just woken up and she woke up boy412 and he expecting his roll call officer he jumped out of bed. Instead of having to get up right away Aunt Zelda made him sit. She then gave him hot chocolate and buttered toast. This is a totally different experience for him.

The keepers cottage is where Aunt Zelda lives.Jenna is currently contemplating how her life ended up like this and why she was lied to by Sarah about different topics. Silas has just transformed the Muriel into two canoes. They are called Muriel 1 and Muriel 2. Silas has been taking them down through the marshes, however he currently has them lost. They have stopped and Jenna feels something tugging on her paddle. It turns out to be a boggart, This is Zeldas boggart and it will lead her to her house.

When everybody is off the boat and on the beach they find Alther waiting for them on the beach. Alther is able to be at this spot because when he was younger he came here to fish. While they are talking Silas makes food for them to eat. Alther also tells them when Jenna left the castle Dom Daniel was able to come into the castle.

Summary
Marcia is holding two very hard spells at the same time. This is very hard because this takes immense concentration and energy. Marcia makes a fog and a projection of Muriel for the hunter to chase after. He falls for it but only until the projection disappears for a second and reappears a second later. The apprentice to Dom Daniel is on the boat and he notices, but the hunter does not. After the oarsmen were chasing Muriel as fast as they could they are getting very tired and are out of rhythm. When the hunter comes back backwards Marcia is on the shore and makes him do a dive into the water.

Summary
All of a sudden they see a search light sweeping across the water looking for them. They must make a choice very soon on what they are going to do or else they will be killed by the hunter. The hunter has a silver pistol and a silver for Jenna. Silver bullets always have a way of finding their targets when shot at the person they are intended for.

Summary
Nicko is piloting Muriel beautifully down the river. Staying where the water the water runs swift and deep. When he wind picked the water became rough and Marcia became sick. However Marcia reveals she gave Sally one of her belt charms, her keepsafe. The keepsafe will keep the person who has it safe from any harm and in Sally's case, safe from fire.

Summary
The hunter cannot recover the trail so he looks for someone to tell him where they have gone. In the window he sees Sally's face. A face that knows something. He proceeds to the ale house and starts asking her questions on where they have gone, but she won't tell him. So he is going to light the ale house on fire with her in it. However the 5 northern traders tell him where they have gone so they can leave. They nail the doors and windows shut and light the ale house on fire, while the hunter proceeds on the bullet boat to find Marcia and crew.

Summary
The hunter has just arrived at the rubbish dump precisely 8 minutes and 20 seconds after Muriel was waved off. He proceeded to try to get the door of the rubbish chute but it wouldn't come off because it was held on by a weld and lockfast spell. The hunter was agitated by his pack and took an axe and cut off the door. Next someone went into the chute to clear out the garbage. Then the smallest pack member went into the chute to try to find them but this did not work because they Marcia and crew were not in the chute.

Summary
Marcia, Silas, Nicko, Jenna, Boy 412 and Maxie the wolfhound are now free from the clog in the chute and are now in the riverside dump.The first thing they see is Sally Mullins Cafe which is bustling with people eating barely cake and drinking Springo ale and Springo Special ale. Sallly has just poured five glasses of ale for some northern traders when she sees them laughing at something outside. Outside was  Marcia, Silas, Nicko, Boy 412, Jenna and Maxie the wolfhound covered in garbage.

Summary
Jenna has just thrown herself into the rubbish chute to get away from the assassin who just tried to kill her for the second time, but failed. The rubbish chute is made out of slate so you can't get a grip on it so you slide or tumble head over heels if you were to go into the chute. This rubbish chute takes care of all of the garbage beween the wizard tower and the palace. So why traveling through the chute they pass  the palace kitchen and get dumped many different types of food from a banquet that was just had.

Summary
Jenna goes into the wizard tower and is amazed at what she sees. In front of her is golden walls with mythical creatures a silver self turning spiral staircase and a sense of Magyk. Also when she opens the door "Hello princess is written on the floor" this is because the wizard tower recognized her. Marcia brings the sentry on the staircase and at the top stops she then brings him into her room lights a fire with the click of her fingers, takes of his clothes with another click of her fingers throws them out with another click of her fingers and then puts on new clothes with a final click of her fingers.

Summary
Marcia has to bring Jenna to the wizard tower to protect her from Linda Lane. So Jenna trots behind Marcia underneath Marcia's cloak all the way to the wizard tower. When they get there something is wrong and Marcia tells that the sentry was not at his post. But he was between the here  and not here. So all of a sudden Marcia and Jenna start digging at a pile of snow and find the frozen sentry buried in the pile of snow.

Marcia is at the heaps door and tries open it, but it doesn't because it isn't her door. So when the door all of a sudden opens she is speechless from surprise. She tells Silas she has come for the princess and he says there are none here. So she sits down to explain  to Sarah and Silas who Jenna really is. She also explains what happened all those years ago on the day Alther and the queen died. Another thing she touches on is why she gave Jenna to the Heaps.

Marcia Overstrand is the Extra Ordinary  Wizard and has been for ten years after she took over from Alther the old ExtraOrdinary when he died. This morning Marcia wakes up and walks over to the mirror and tells it minus 8.3 percent, this means make her look thinner, but the mirror does 83 percent.  Marcia's appearance is striking. She has her winter robes on which are lined with the softest fur. She also has on purple python shoes which are very pointy. Around her neck is the Akhu Amulet which signifies she is the ExtraOrdinary wizard and along with the amulet comes a platinum and a gold belt. Marcia today is going to the Ramblings to the Heaps but she is going during rush hour, but her appearance has totally changed that  people shrink into corners and just look at her.

Summary
Time has fast forwarded to where Jenna is ten years old. She has just woken up in her box by the window where she sleeps. As she looks around everything is the same to her but to us it seems much more crowded. There is 20 years worth of stuff in the room. One thing that there is a lot of is books. Especially Magyk books. These books were rescued from the Magyk school where they were to be burned. Even though most of the room is filled with stuff there is one section that is not chaotic. This is where the table is. It is set neatly with plates mugs and a table cloth. However on the other side of town in the castle the supreme custodian was woken up. The night servant helps him get dressed and places the crown on his head. He was woken because he had a meeting with an assassin to kill Jenna the princess. However Jenna does not know this yet.

Jenna the baby girl that Silas found fits right into his family. It helps that his wife Sarah just had a baby but that baby, Septimus, died. Jenna's brothers love her and they are always bringing home treasures for her from their Magyk classes. One of Sarah's friends, Sally Mullin, owns a tea and ale house by the river. Sally pays a visit to Sarah every week to tell her what is going on in the castle. She finds out all this information because she always has customers telling it to her. This news is about the queen. The queen was killed, but this happened six months ago. She was killed by the castle guards.

Magyk starts out by Silas Heap the father of six kids coming out of the Forrest after seeing Galen the Physik  woman for herbs that will heal his newest seventh son. When he is just about to come out of the Forrest he hears from Magyk a breathing. This breathing belongs to a baby girl who is underneath a bush. He sees her blue lips and he puts her in his jacket to bring home. When he gets home he sees the midwife leaving with his newborn Son Septimus who is all wrapped in bandages. And as the midwife leaves she says dead over her shoulder.

Septimus is now Marica's apprentice for Magyk. The book begins by him getting bitten by a spider. Then his sister or sister of no related blood gets kidnapped by her brother Simon. He does this by the biding of his master who is only bones. Septimus along with his brother Nicko (he has 7) goes to see his other brothers that live in the forest because they have a friend who is an excellent tracker. It turns out the tracker or Wolf Boy is a friend of Septimus when they were in the young army.He fell overboard on a boat on a do or die mission. Right now Septimus, Nicko, Wolf Boy and Jenna who escaped have been attacked by Simon by the marshes.

Rosy Mae finishes u the dishes and goes outside to smoke and talks to Stanley. They talk about a murder that Stanley heard about. The next day he goes up to a house that Rosy told him about. It was the house of the people who's house burnt down. He goes in but gets spooked so he runs out jumps on his bike and rides as fast as he can down a steep hill. This is bad because he can't stop. He gets hit by a truck in the leg and it just missed his head. With his leg broken he can't do much.

Summary
Holling's cross country training is starting to get serious. He is running at least three miles a day and Mrs.Baker is coaching him on top of that. It is spring break and getting close to the opening day for the Yankees and Holling has two tickets for his dad and himself. When Holling brings this subject up to his dad at dinner he acknowledges this. His sister also brings up that she wants to go to college, but Holling's dad doesn't want  her to because it is not safe. He says that she has a good job and shouldn't go to college where classes are suspended because of protests. When opening day comes Holling has a note for his teachers because he is leaving at 12:00. When 12:00 rolls around his dad is no there. He is not there at 12:11. Holling is getting nervous so he calls his dad's work. He then finds out that he has meetings until 2:30. Which is when the game starts. So Mrs. Baker drives him as slow as she can there, but they make it there by the third inning. By the end of the game they are invited onto the field and start playing and running around the basses. Holling had a great time.

In the handbook for boys Jimmy, the main character starts out in a police department, and is being told that he could serve time for assaulting someone at school. Duke, an owner of a barbershop took him in, and now he works for him doing odd jobs like cleaning and reorganizing the store. So far he has been talking with the old guys that just hang around the store. He also listened to someones story on how his wife got mad at him and how she left him. Duke related this to how a tiger advertised to a monkey on how to teach them the monkey walk while blindfolded. Life ended for the monkey because the tiger tricked him because the tiger had a trap set for him when the monkey followed the tigers voice. The moral of this story is that there are good times and bad times.

Summary
In these pages, the seventh and eighth graders are working on running for the cross-country team and Holling is not looking forward to this. Over the weekend, he runs 7 miles because he does not want to be made fun of for not running fast. On a Wednesday, Mrs. Baker tells Holling that the way he runs is too tight and it looks like he is digging his nails into his hands. Therefore, Mrs. Baker brings Holling out to the track and tells him how to make running easier. Holling does what she said to do and it makes his running easier. A few of the board members will be coming to see Mrs. Baker’s class and she wants some help on how to be a better teacher in attitude. Therefore, Holling tells her a few things and so they both were able to profit off each other. When the members of the board arrived, the class was running perfectly for most of the time, until one of the bulging asbestos tiles came crashing down with the two rats that had been hiding up there. The tile fell into one the board members laps. Everyone in the room was scared and screaming trying to get as far away as they could, while Mrs. Sidman the board member picked them up and carried them down the hall to a cage. The same day is the tryouts for the cross-country team, and Holling is hoping that they will cancel it because of the rat scare. When Holling starts running he is in the back of the pack, but by the fourth lap, he is up near the front. As he is in the final part, he passes the rat cage and those rats somehow figure out how to get out of the cage. When they get out they start chasing after Holling and he ran faster than any seventh grader has ran before. While he is running, a school bus comes in and the rats are in the road, but they do not try to get out of the way. They just stand there and face off with the bus. The bus wins. Since Holling ran so fast he made varsity and he is the only seventh grader with the other eighth graders.

Summary
Holling brings in a long box of cram puffs and everybody in his class is excited for them. Even his teacher seems to be looking forward to them. Holling's teacher tells them to go out to recess before the eat them because she has to go and light a candle. When they get back from recess Sycorax and Caliban the classes rats that escaped were in the box of cream puffs. The kids who made Holling get the cream puffs say he has ten days to get them the cream puffs. Even though he didn't eat the one he was given, they feel like he has to get them the cream puffs. It has taken him long enough to pay for them in 3 weeks and they want him to get them in 10 days.
